Feel your all encapsulates my entire approach toward fitness, and I am ridiculously excited to be a part of this campaign! I get to share so much of what makes up my health and fitness journey, and how it all pieces together.
To feel your all is to be open to change and not limit yourself, physically and mentally.
To feel your all is to be mindful and sustainable with your approach to nutrition and recovery.
To fee your all is to take sleep seriously. You’ll never feel as ready and excited for the day ahead without getting that solid REM sleep that you know your entire being is craving.
To feel your all is to balance the sum of these pillar. This is because each pillar is reliant on the next.
My everyday revolves around the integration of optimal nutrition, movement, recovery, wellness, and sleep. Then life happens on top of this. For me, life requires these parts to be prioritised, in order to make everything else run smoothly. From physical and spiritual through to energetic and mental.
Fuel your body with the nutrients it requires to get through the day’s movement. Support muscle recovery with sufficient protein. Support hormones with fats. Support energy with carbs. Move in a way that challenges you, pushes your limits, and benefits your cardiovascular health. Prioritise wellness by making time to meditate, exploring your experiences through journaling and pause to connect with your breath and mind.
Incorporate a personal sleep hygiene routine to ensure a full nights rest, with minimal interruptions, and a fresh rise in the morning, so you can squeeze ALL of the juice out of the following day. Recover with purpose. Don’t just do ice baths and yoga because someone said it was beneficial. Try new things and see what works best for you. For me, my favourite recovery sessions include a mix of long walk, sauna, yoga and if I am lucky, an ice bath too.
This aligns so well with my everyday life. Because it highlights the necessary balancing act between intense sweaty workouts, surfs, and teaching yoga to making wholesome homecooked meals and finding time for sleep, social time, study, and recovery. It sounds like a full-time job but when you are passionate about long-term health and happiness, all the pieces of the puzzle come together like a melody. A key to ensuring healthy social time is not skipped, combine friends and movement. Combine family time with nutrition. Combine date night with recovery. Get creative! I pair my Nike Go leggings with literally any of these activities, with 6 pockets – I am ready for just about anything my day could throw at me!
To round this one out, practice mindfulness throughout these elements of your fitness journey. Being present while training means you are less likely to injure yourself. Being present while doing the groceries, food planning, cooking, and eating, means you’re opting for healthier options and supporting your entire system properly.
