If there’s one thing Sydney Swans AFL & AFWL players, Errol Gulden & Chad Warner, and Montana Ham & Chloe Molloy, all have in common, it’s their love for running – second to their love of AFL, of course.
With rebel as a proud partner of AFL & AFLW, it seemed only fitting to ask them to test out the all-new Nike Pegasus 41.
The Nike Pegasus 41 – the newest addition to the franchise – has taken learnings from previous iterations to produce the latest update, boasting a range of new features, and we’re here for it.
The ReactX foam allows for a smoother more energetic ride and an increase in foam underfoot offers the runner more protection, with the same 10mm offset as the Pegasus 40.
The Pegasus 41 also features wider nets for extra comfort – in both the forefoot and heel – making this a shoe of choice for a wide range of runners. While its engineered mesh upper is now lighter, more breathable, and more comfortable than ever.
Notably, the Dynamic Midfoot Fit system offers extra support by connecting the lacing directly to an internal midfoot band which gently hugs the entire foot.
So, what was the player's verdict? Let’s get into it.
How does running make you feel?
Errol:
I love that post-run feeling and the satisfaction from running and pushing myself to get better. I love it when you get into the space where your mind wants you to stop but you keep pushing yourself further.
Chloe:
Running gives me the serotonin hit that makes me feel motivated to get the most out of my days and training. I enjoy running with my partner, a way to explore my backyard in Sydney but also a way to keep my body and mind healthy.
Where do you like to run?
Chloe:
When I run (outside of my professional training), I enjoy the views of Centennial Park but it’s also hard to go past the Bondi to Bronte run. Centennial Park has a lot of green grass and tracks which are great to run along, but Bondi to Bronte has ocean views the entire way – if you can get see past the crowds that is.
Errol:
I love to run around parks, some of my favourite places I’ve run are Centennial Park in Sydney, Hyde Park in London and at the Old Course in St Andrew’s, Scotland.
Nike Pegasus 41 First Impressions
Montana:
I’ve found the Nike Pegasus 41s to be an absolute game-changer in my daily life and fitness journey. The Pegasus 41s provide a comfortable, snug fit that adapts to my needs, making every run a smooth and pleasant experience.
Errol:
I’ve been wearing Nike Pegasus’ for about 4-5 years now and have loved the progression and development of the shoe to what it is today. This model is extremely lightweight whilst also maintaining the comfort and stability expected out of a Pegasus model.
They fit and feel amazing. And for me, with pretty standard-width feet they are snug and fit nicely but also aren’t so tight that they constrict you.
Chloe:
Nike Pegasus’ has been my go-to runner ever since I injured my foot in 2018. I tore my lisfranc (the ligaments that support the midfoot) and these were the comfiest and most fitting runners for me. Due to their fit and support, they helped me return to running pain-free – and I have been a loyal Pegasus wearer ever since. So, of course, the Nike Pegasus 41s didn’t disappoint. They’re super lightweight, and springy and hug my feet perfectly – I felt like I could keep running in them for Ks.
Chad:
I found the Nike Pegasus 41s to have more cushioning and to be softer on impact when you hit the ground than previous models. I also have a wider foot, and these still fit and feel great, whilst offering great support.
Whether you're training for a marathon or hitting the track for a casual jog, the versatile and everyday trainer delivers its promise of comfort and durability. With its responsive ReactX foam, Dynamic Midfoot Fit system, and updated design for enhanced cushioning and stability, the Nike Pegasus 41 serves as a great running shoe for both seasoned and beginner runners.
