The need for breasts to remain in their assigned seat is a daily must, and for each activity, Nike has us covered. Today I bring to you my top three bras for support and sport!
I feel like a great candidate for a bra review as my fun bags fluctuate from a B to a DD over each month. Wild, I know. And with the number of activities I do per week, I've had the time and resources to test the high support bras all the way to low support bras.
There are 3 key factors I think seriously about each night while packing the ol gym bag for the next morning. Shoes appropriate for supporting the workout style, leggings or shorts to match the movement and bra to strap down, flow with and support each move I make.
Let's start with my most-worn, all time, hands-down FAVE: The Nike Indy Bra, I wear it mostly in the plunge style. OOOOFT if you want to dance out the door and burst into your workout looking shlick and boss. This. Is. Your. Bra. The ladies look their absolute best in this bra. I usually remove the padding from most bras, but not this one, for me, it sits in a way that adds to the support and boosts everything going on upstairs.
You know that pep-in-your-step-ovulating-goddess energy you feel once a month?! This bra lends that feeling, every wear. The Indy Bra is THE ONE as far as I am concerned. The minimal coverage means you will look as good as you feel. The strappy V-shape silhouette is MADE to flatter. I honestly cannot speak higher of a workout top. I spent a lot of 2023 hosting retreats overseas and just this week I was looking back at videos of my workouts and what I noticed was so many of the girls at my retreats wearing this bra! I don't blame them, this bra is elite. Indy for President.
Okay, we get it, I love the flattering energy of Indy, more of this for me in 2024.
But if you're more of a maximum coverage gal – Nike have you covered with their iconic Swoosh Bra. You can find low, medium and high support in the range of Swoosh bras. Guaranteed, in the backseat of my car at all times is a Nike Swoosh Bra (alongside shorts and pair of Pegasus'). The reason for this: I am ready for any sport, always. 2024 is the year of more activities that make my heart happy (metaphorically and physiologically, too). Oztag fill-in? Gotcha. Late sign-up to a dance class? I'm ready. Sunset run with the girls? Oh yes, I have everything I need. Who said bouldering? Of course I am in.
You get the point – the Swoosh Bra and it's iconic racer back has you covered for activities and sports of all impact levels. Motion in the breast-region? Nope, thank you Swoosh.
Lastly but certainly not least, because it may very well be worn more than the others. Please welcome to the stage, your flexible, flattering everyday option, the Nike Alate Bra. I am wearing this one right now in brown and it is quite literally hugging and supporting in all the right places. The perfect bra for my morning routine of meditation; surf check; post-surf coffee date; study; work; cooking; evening stretches and; watching Love Island (who said that? Certainly not me, I meant chores..) The open back silhouette sits phenomenally sleek under pretty much any of my outfits which is major win. Mina from the 2006 movie Stick it wouldn't have been deducted points for her bra strap hanging out if she'd worn an alate. Back to reality now, the Alate Bra gives this feeling like it was made custom for me and I would say that is due to the seamless and snug finish. Alternatively, there's some kind of magic unbeknownst to this universe and they've harnessed it's power to create such effortless-feeling bra's, but I guess we'll never know.
