Good Beginner Spikes

I am a freshman sprinter in high school and when I got these spikes my 100m time improved from a 13.3 to a 12.3 within a month. They are extremely light weight and the only issue with the fit is that it is a little too tight and can cramp your toes a bit (at least for me). While running in these it feels like there is nothing on your feet and the spikes provide for good traction. One issue that may come up with experienced runners who are at a very high level, is that these spikes lack some of the explosiveness and aggressiveness required in short sprints when coming out of the blocks, although can improve your running at top speed. They also look really good too. The replaceable spikes also wear out very quickly and you'll need replacements after a few races.

Yes, I recommend this product.

WORTH THE READ!

This shoe is a great for sprinters! I could not wait for it to arrive! **order a half size up** I eagerly waited the arrival so I could try them out ASAP! As usual Nike shipped incredibly fast and they came in looking perfect. I only wear Nike for my cross country and track practices and meets! If you are considering purchasing these spikes, here is a list of pros and cons: Pros: -inexpensive -looks nice -lightweight -great stability -increases speed -nice plate angle Cons: -a bit uncomfortable (though that does not really matter considering you will only be running in them for a minute or less) -runs small (I ordered a half size up and it was perfect!) -this is really me just being picky, but: - the laces are a little difficult to pull, so I will probably buy a different kind. Overall this is a really nice shoe for an even better price! I would totally recommend this to a beginner or experienced runner looking for a nice pair of spikes for a good price! 10/10 recommend!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great For Beginners and Pros

The Nike Zoom Rival S 8 are a great experience for both new and experienced sprinters. I’m an avid runner who has experienced different types of spikes in both cross country and track. Last year was my first year of track and my feet had to adjust to the different feeling that came with wearing spikes. I run the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash in these shoes. I run every meet and always have a sprinting event. I also partake in relays often. Spikes for distance running or cross country has spikes along the whole bottom of the shoe providing traction for the whole shoe but sprinting spikes require a different set up. Initially it is a little hard to adjust to the hill-like plastic mold at the balls of my feet but it feels good when running. The area near the balls of your feet have a slight hill leading towards the spikes at the front of the shoe, which is great since this is a good quality for shoes made for sprinting. This causes me to feel off balance initially but once I started doing strides to break the shoe in everything will feel natural. Since the spikes are more towards the front of the shoe and near the toes it provides a large amount of traction when pushing off and tearing your way down the track, race after race. The shoe feels narrow at times but after running in the shoe for a while you will begin to barely notice it. The secure feeling of the shoe around my feet allows for a precise performance when running. I recently ran in the shoes again for an indoor race instead of outdoor as usual and encountered a few issues. One of the main issues for me as a tall runner is the tight corners on and indoor track when trying to run fast. These shoes do not handle well when turning tight corners. The corners of the plastic spikes on the bottom have become worn slightly but still provide great traction. There have been no issues with spikes getting stuck or damage to the slots or the spikes even after occasionally racing on hard tracks. I have marks and smudges on the bottom of the shoe that come from the friction between the shoe and the track but it isn’t visible at all when standing upright. Another slight issue is that the shoe heats up immensely when running fast and afterwards takes a while to cool down. Overall these shoes provide a great introduction to the nature and feeling of spikes while also having a nice feel. It is a well priced shoe that gets the job done, especially when your body type matches the track you’re on. This shoe provided a great introduction the usefulness of track spikes while also allowing me to perform better. The best part is that after a year the shoe is in great condition to still be used. After a full year of training and racing the shoe is still in great shape and feels good to run in.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Overall great but like anykind of product has determents based off preference

these are exelent in my opinion, but im just a freshman at jv high school level. My brother has been running varsity level for 3 years, his main event being the 400, and he has said that the shoes are a bit heavy for anything over a length of 3oom race. Also they are a bit tight so for a good snug fit, choose a size about half larger, the spikes are some kind of delrin plastic, so they will chip easier than metal for more hard use, so you may want to upgrade into metal spikes.

Yes, I recommend this product.

These shoes are great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They work well for track and field. I run hurdles and they are great for that and also the sprints I run. I got them a half size too small because I like my track shoes to be a little small. These shoes are a little tighter than the spikes I usually get in the size 5. They did fine after I broke them in and ran in them for a while. Overall they are a great product.

Yes, I recommend this product.
