Proform Pro 9000 PF21 Treadmill

We bought this treadmill 6 months ago as an upgrade from a $600 ebay special we'd had for 12 years. That nasty old thing never missed a beat except I replaced the deck after about 6 years. We're getting older, so time for some cushioning comfort. Bought the Proform9000 from Rebel (thankfully). It was the most expensive one they had in the shop. We wanted something good. By the way, this was for my wife and I who are on the dark side of 50. I weigh 92kg and only do 5km runs every other day at a very steady 12.5km/h pace. My wife only walks on it. PROBLEMS: 1/. After about 8 weeks my right knee suddenly got very sore and the running surface felt uneven. Deck split. (I suspect it had been split for a while. Rebel service and the service guy were AWESOME...Thankyou. Treadmill out of action for 4 weeks. 2/. Another 4 weeks of use and Deck split again. Service again was AWESOME. Thankyou. The manager at Rebel gave us a free rubber matt to put under the treadmill even thought it was on a carpet matt. So we tried that. Treadmill out of action for another 4 weeks. Another 4 weeks and; 3/. Speakers are failing intermittently - 4/. Rear left adjustable foot has smashed through it's plastic housing 5/. A rattling clunking noise has developed inside the motor somewhere (very loud) 6/. And, Yes, you guessed it, the deck has split again. I have asked the Rebel guy about replacement or refund. This machine is just not reliable. He told me that's up to ICON Fitness if they replace/refund or keep fixing... We are currently standing-by awaiting response. It was great for a couple of weeks. Then it's been failure after failure. And we can't use it for a month at a time waiting for it be patched up.

Now it is working, its a very good treadmill. It is very big and bulky. Certainly (as the excellent staff at Rebel politely explained) it will not fit in a large 4x4. I had to borrow a work van - I was going to have have delivery and install (even for a cost) but would take over 2 weeks. Initially the treadmill did not work. screen cam on but would not recognise the safety key was in. I reported and chased up customer support a few times and the send a guy out. He played around and got it working. But when actually running on the machine it kept cutting out. So they send a whole new console and the same guy came out pronto to replace. All this took about 2 weeks. Now working, I am very happy with it (except fan does not always work). The size is big, but great to run on because of long and wide deck. And + and - incline has good range. Max speed is high compared to most. Big (22inch) screen is great to watch while running. It is a heavy and sturdy unit. despite wheels, very hard to move (on carpet). Folding deck is easy to do and useful. I was not wanting or expecting much wit the iFit programs, but they are actually pretty good, and I have been doing a few programs. It is free for first year. I didn't expect I would renew, but probably will. Conceptually - I'm spending $3k on their treadmill, iFit should be free for life. iFit remembers your settings and adjust the standard speeds etc for the next episode, so as to match your fitness and push you. Doing own maps with google street view is pretty fun too. Family members can have their own accounts so can do own programs with within own abilities.

I gave a glowing review when i first got the machine. Now 2 months later the screen has stopped working - and the "Customer Support" is basically non existant. You are kept on hold for ages when calling Icon Health, they pass your details onto a local contractor who doesnt follow up. When they do finally call they do a over the phne diagnostic and then order parts that are not held in stock and may take months to arrive. I am looking to get a refund - this is one of the worst decsions i have made - and a very expensive mistake . Avoid.

Bought this last week. Took half a day to put together but I wanted to do it properly and not rush it. Solid treadmill made of steel. Wife has done one hike on it so far and really enjoyed it be can't wait for her next workout.

This treadmill is a complete disaster. It started giving errors on day one and now into the second week, incline has stopped working. Built quality is also very poor. The moment you cross 10kph the whole machine starts vibrating badly especially the monitor. But I feel lucky to have bought it from Rebel. Staff was very helpful and has arranged a technician who is yet to come.

This machine has taken running to a whole new level

Fantstic treadmill. The whole family is enjoying using it and the ifìt program. The screen is amazing and so simple to use. Have had great service from proform. Was easy enough to put together but is extremely heavy and needs two strong people to lift and move if doing click and collect.
