I'm enjoying it

As I don't have room at for a barbell setup, I thought this would be a good alternative. Works well for moves like above-head presses, squats, and bend-over-rows. Not so great for dead lifts as there is little to no tension when the bar is so close to the ground (being a band system). Might be better for taller people (I'm a women at 167cm). The bar screws together with a connecting piece in the middle and I like how there are two different sizes, so you can choose to have the bar longer or shorter - I do wish there was an even longer options so I could practice over-head squats (the current connector is just a little too short for this). I do use it regularly and enjoy using it. I think it's worth getting, but it does have some limitations.

Beats the gym

I got this to help with my physio resitance training to target more areas for a rounded workout The set comes with a good amount of stuff to get you started but you need the power handles if you're going to do half the exercises. Its very well made, however one of the carbena hooks, lost its spring so I have to manually close it. I do wish the exercise manual wasnt a scan code, but there are videos to help on the website. Its very customisable, but, you gotta get the other stuff ( heavier resitance tubes, power handles etc. ) all in all very happy. Use it every day.

Okay but has limitations to be aware of

I have the entire platform system, and also the door attachments from covid. In hindsight I wish I had known this before I bought the system: 1. The minis on their shortest setting (and highest weight) are still too long to do an adequate row/deadlift/curl unless you are IMO 180cm +. So you only get solid tension halfway through the rep than you would with a real barbell . For example, I am 170cm and with the grey minis for deadlifts, my hands only get tension mid thigh , which means it’s not a real dead lift. To get around this you can stand on a box or something to get more height/tension but it’s awkward and doesn’t feel stable . This is the biggest downside and frustrating it’s not made clear anywhere on the box . If you contact customer service they send you the generic instruction guide which isn’t very helpful as it’s based on a tall male for those types of excercises. 2. In addition to the above point, PTP provides little to no guides/info on their products. You get a little fold out exercises example paper with each product but videos would be better. On the product it says “Ptp app coming soon” but that has been coming for ages. So for some workouts where the tube was too long for tension i liaised with a trainer to get ideas of how to get around this. You’d think PTPwould do this but they don’t. 3. I use the foot strap as a handle since it’s got a shorter attachment so creates a little more tension 4. You can do chest fly/chest press etc using platform if you clip it on one end only as if the door attachment was on the floor. 5. If you lie some sort of wood plank down over the platform and a bench you can do a hip thrust (kind of ) Overall I do like the product but it IS expensive for what you get, considering if you aren’t super tall some of the best excercises won’t work with this (deadlift, row , curl). Id you are really tall I’d say go for it but if you are short, unless you have $$ to burn I’d look around at other products. If PTP were upfront about this so you know what you are paying for , I would have given more stars 😒 FYI - I ended up getting a universal bar online which is like PTP but the lengths are better for deadlift/rows and I can get a burn that I couldn’t with the PTP system. So I use ptp for “dumbbell” mimicking workouts and the universal bar one for barbell like ones. This works well for me!!! (170cm tall 58kg female )

Over priced. No after sales he'll without paying

recently purchased the PTP Resistance Platform System. I have a complaint. For $300 there is no exercise instruction included. So I download the app and now I have to pay to use it. Which I did. There are only about 15 exercises and (some of those are the same but with different names) I can do on the platform. Also most Workouts only use the platform sometimes the other is just floor exercises with no equipment. I feel for the price I paid is not worth it. Do you have more exercises I can do on the platform? The app is very frustrating to use as you have to go through the whole routine pause and fast forward to learn the routines etc. When frist paid for the total resistance bands years ago it came with a booklet which was very helpful. Now I have to pay etc if I want to download the same booklet. You should look after your customers instead of seeing how much money you can get from them in after sales. Will not be using your products again. And I will be leaving negative reviews where ever I can.

Disappointing

I like the PTP system and have bought into the power tubes and accessories but I regret purchasing the Resistance Platform System. It's okay for squats and shoulder presses but you can achieve the same thing by anchoring the bands to a door or wall. As for things like deadlifts, RDLs, bent over rows, etc., it's next to useless - the short power tubes are too long so there's no resistance when bent down even when the bands are doubled around. I've tried threading the the long tubes through and they don't work, either. The box says the platform can handle resistance up to 125kg but it's starting to flex at half that load. I'm not sure how it would really handle that much resistance. The bar is only okay. It can only accomodate four hooks, which is two bands doubled around. Likewise, the soft loops included for that purpose can only fit a couple of bands. The bands are typical PTP good quality so no complaints there.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Ptp resistance system

Good product. Slightly on the expensive side. Great for upper body work. Product only comes with light and medium resistance bands which at that price point you would think the heavy and extreme would be included to. Power handles not included. On the whole, it is good alternative to having many other pieces of equipment in a home gym.

Great starter kit, wish I'd bought it originally.

The platform is sturdy and the value of components makes it good value. I have had to buy weaker bands to cover my whole body due to weak shoulders. Hubby/son went a size thicker. Our bar connector wasn't machined properly and didn't bite fully so we had to exchange it, but rebel were painless and awesome.
