GREAT BALL! But why brand it as a "Replica"?

What can you say, it's a football... looks good, feels good, smells good (for now). But why oh why does it have to be a "Replica" footy? What's the difference between this one and the one the NRL uses? I'm guessing nothing... so why put "replica" on it? Who is making this ball? Does it come from the same manufacturer as the balls the NRL uses? I bought an NFL ball years ago and there's no replica printed on it, it's the real deal. Which brings me to the price = $60 for a footy? You used to be able to stroll down the K-Mart or BigW sport aisle and pick these up for $25. But now, those places only have non-NRL branded balls (we don't want those ones guys!) So huge thanks to Rebel for having this one, albeit, it's a "replica". We want the real one. And why so expensive? Does the red ink in the Westpac logo cost more? It seems inflation has hit all NRL merch hard... and why not, take the local sport everyone loves and milk it for all it's worth, milk it hard like Jahrome Hughes staying down holding his head, arm, leg, back of the neck... Anyway the football is great and I recommend you buy it! If you want the proper NRL ball and can look past the "replica" print on it, this is the one for you. I'll enjoy booting this one around for the next 5 years until the "replica" print wears off, along with the other branding, and it becomes a dirty off-white/brown type colour, but it'll still go strong I'm sure! Love it! Now I've just got to find a park that has football posts left up... that's a rant for another time!

Steeden - A Sturdy Classic

Steeden have always made balls of the highest quality. They wear well and cope with the most arduous playing conditions. I never hesitate to recommend Steeden balls. You might pay a bit more but it's worth it and is more economical over the life of the ball.

I have had the ball for about 1 week and the stitching has already started to rip. Showing the inside of the ball. Not sure if I got the bad ball but very disappointed
