Dex II vs Gravity Boots, I have both.

I recently purchased both the Dex II and the gravity boots. Although they both focus on decompressing the back, they are very different, each with pros and cons. Overall, I prefer the gravity boots because of its full vertical stretch. But first I say Teeter’s customer service deserves five stars!  They were great at replacing needed parts. The DexII… It can be placed almost anywhere there is room which is a huge advantage and I would definitely use it rather than nothing. Once placed it is difficult to move. It does stretch the back but your arms rest on the floor or back of the head and I feel I don’t get the full vertical stretch I like. As is, I would not recommend it for anyone shorter than 5’3” because it is hard to get the hips high enough up on the hip pad, unless they modify it as I did with an accessory step. I notice some taller users mention problems also. I also do not like the 90 degree bend in the bars attached to the hip pad which are difficult for me to reach when coming up. My sad and sorry story with a good ending: I tried it at my chiropractor’s office before purchasing and it seemed easy enough to use. However I fell backwards getting the box in the sliding door. Assembly went ok. After a week of use I injured my ribs bending over because I couldn’t get up high enough on the hip pad. That took several weeks to heal during which time I realized I would have to raise the step of the DexII in order to fix the problem. I now have a wider step with safety tread that raises the existing step by 2.25 inches. Just right and now it is easy to use, step on, step off. Photos attached. The gravity boots… The gravity boots come in standard and large. Unfortunately the standard is still too large for my legs and there is no smaller size. (A commentary on the size and weight of Americans today?) They are almost exactly the same as the ones I have been using for the last thirty-five years following a pedestrian-vehicle accident. They definitely help my back and I have used them daily until recently losing weight. I prefer the full vertical stretch the boots allow without my hands touching the floor. It’s great. I do not use the doorway mount as I would never be able to hang and curl up in order to hook the boots on the bar. (not that strong) Instead I use a pipe attached to the rafters where the feet and boots can go between between the rafters. Mounted 18 inches from a blank wall allows me to climb up the wall with my feet in order to hook the boots. The problem is that at my current weight which is slender, the cuffs are not comfortable and dig into my ankles and calf to a point where I can only hang for two minutes instead of five or ten. I currently use half in foam strips front and back which gives me the two minutes. Heavy socks do not work and I have not yet devised a satisfactory and pain free way to pad the cuffs so they don’t dig in to my lower leg at the bottom of the front and the top of the back. The buckles are also very stiff and difficult to operate. Hopefully they will loosen with use. In conclusion either one helps my back, but given an option I prefer the results from the gravity boots. PS Can't figure how to upload photos :(

I feel safe using this product, nothing failed.

Although I don’t use this product every day, but two to three days per week after finishing my exercises. I have noticed improvement for my lower back area. I have hung upside down from 12 minutes to 21 minutes. I’ve also have done my abdominal region by raising my upper torso to my hip area. This product still works and holds me up after using it for around 4 weeks now. No failure using this product and I feel safe using it.

No more pain!

These gravity boots are great. I lived with low back pain for over a year. I went to a chiropractor and got some relief but the pain never completely went away. I've been inverting with these boots everyday since I got them and now I'm pain-free most days. Amazing! Highly recommended trying them out for back pain.

Yes, I recommend this product.
